| DAY 2 - MON: ATHENS - CORINTH - OLYMPIA |
CORINTH Canal. (short stop) Drive to EPIDAURUS (visit the archaeological site and the Theatre famous for its remarkable acoustics) and then on to NAUPLIA (short stop). Drive to MYCENAE where you visit the archaeological site and then depart for OLYMPIA through the central Peloponnese area passing the cities of MEGALOPOLIS and TRIPOLIS, arrive in OLYMPIA. Dinner and overnight in OLYMPIA. (B,D.)
| DAY 3 - TUE: OLYMPIA - ANTIRION - DELPHI |
In the morning visit the archaeological site and the museum of OLYMPIA. Drive via PATRAS to RION, cross the channel to ANTIRION on the "state of the art" new suspended bridge considered to be the longest and most modern in Europe. Arrive in NAFPAKTOS, then continue to DELPHI. Dinner and overnight in DELPHI. (B,D)
| DAY 4 - WED: DELPHI - ATHENS |
In the morning visit the archaeological site and the museum of DELPHI. 2 hours at leisure and then start the drive back to ATHENS. Overnight in Athens. (B)
Morning pick up from hotel. This tour includes an overview of the modern city and striking contrasts to the remains of its glorious past. Drive by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament House on Constitution Square, the Panathenian Stadium (site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896). See vistas of the Presidential Palace (ex Royal Palace), government buildings and elegant homes. Drive along Panepistimiou Avenue and view the Catholic Cathedral, the Academy, University, National Library and Omonia Square. In contrast, we visit the Roman Temple of Olympian Zeus and the crowning beauty and glory that was Athens, the Acropolis with its many monuments atop its rocky base, including the awesome Parthenon, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens. Return to hotel around 3pm. Overnight at hotel. (B)
Free day to explore. Afternoon transfer to the cruise ship.
Day at leisure to enjoy sailing. Take advantage of the activities offered on board.
Arrival into Port Said in the early morning. Take an optional day excursion to Cairo to visit the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Egyptian Museum. Transfer back to the cruise ship in the evening.
Arrival into Ashdod. Option to take a tour of the Holy Land which will cover the highlight of Jerusalem and Bethlehem and other sites of interest.
Arrival into Lemesos. Spend the day exploring this seaside city or take an optional tour to Paphos and visit Kourion and Aphrodite's birthplace.
Early morning arrival into Antalya. Free morning to relax at this beach resort or take an optional tour to visit the ancient city of Perge and Aspendos. Afternoon at sea.
| DAY 12 - THU: SANTORINI/MYKONOS |
Early morning arrival to Santorini, one of the most beautiful volcanic islands in the world. Take a walk through the narrow streets of Thira or visit the village of Oia with it's stunning views. Afternoon sail to Mykonos where you can spend the afternoon and evening walking along the cobblestone streets, enjoying drinks in a café by the seaside or enjoy the sunset over the harbour.
Arrival back to Athens. Disembark after breakfast and transfer to the airport for your onwards flight.
