Day 1: Saturday or Monday: Nairobi

 

Met on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transferred to the Nairobi Serena Hotel. Day at leisure (optional excursions available - book and pay locally). Overnight at Nairobi Serena Hotel on bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: Sunday or Tuesday: Samburu

 

After breakfast, head north across the Equator into the panoramic northern frontier district and into Samburu National Reserve. Lunch is at Samburu Serena Lodge. Late afternoon game-drive on the lookout for species seldom seen elsewhere - Gravy's Zebra, the Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Blue Legged Somali Ostrich. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge.

Day 3: Monday or Wednesday: Samburu

Early morning and late afternoon game-drives in the Samburu National Reserve with breakfast, lunch and dinner at the lodge. Overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge.

Day 4: Tuesday or Thursday: Mountain Lodge

After breakfast drive to the slopes of Mount Kenya. Lunch at Mountain Lodge. Afternoon spent game viewing from the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Lodge.

Day 5: Wednesday or Friday: Lake Nakuru Lodge

After breakfast, head out to the world famous bird and rhino sanctuary of Lake Nakuru. Lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge. Afternoon game-drive. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 6: Thursday or Saturday: Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, descend to the floor of the Great Rift Valley and on into the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Lunch is taken en route to Mara Serena Lodge. Late afternoon game-drive in this wilderness wonderland. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge.

Day 7: Friday or Sunday: Masai Mara

Early morning optional balloon flight over the Mara followed by breakfast in the bush; or an early morning game-drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge.

Day 8: Saturday or Monday: Depart

After breakfast, return to Nairobi.
