Morning pick up from hotel. This tour includes an overview of the modern city and striking contrasts to the remains of its glorious past. Drive by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament House on Constitution Square, the Panathenian Stadium (site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896). See vistas of the Presidential Palace (ex Royal Palace), government buildings and elegant homes. Drive along Panepistimiou Avenue and view the Catholic Cathedral, the Academy, University, National Library and Omonia Square. In contrast, we visit the Roman Temple of Olympian Zeus and the crowning beauty and glory that was Athens, the Acropolis with its many monuments atop its rocky base, including the awesome Parthenon, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens. Return to hotel around 3pm. Overnight at hotel. (B)

CORINTH Canal (short stop). Drive to EPIDAURUS (visit the archaeological site and the theatre famous for its remarkable acoustics) and then on to NAUPLIA (short stop). Drive to MYCENAE where you visit the archaeological site, then depart for OLYMPIA, through the central Peloponnese area passing the cities of MEGALOPOLIS and TRIPOLIS arrive in OLYMPIA. In the morning visit the archaeological site and the museum of OLYMPIA. Drive via PATRAS to RION, cross the channel to ANTIRION on the "state of the art" new suspended bridge considered to be the longest and most modern in Europe. Drive by TRIKALA and LARISSA to the famous, sacred Macedonian town of DION (visit).Then continue to THESSALONIKI, the largest town in Northern Greece. Visit the most interesting museum of THESSALONIKI and sightseeing of the city. Dinner & Overnight. (B.D.)
Morning drive to PELLA, Alexander the Great’s capital (visit). Continue to VERGINA to visit the Tomb of the King PHILIP and the famous ‘’VERGINA TREASURES’’. Then on to LEFKADIA where you visit the excavations. Return to THESSALONIKI via VERIA. Dinner & Overnight. (B.D.)
